Açaí – what is it?
Açaí berries are fruits of the cabbage palm, also called jucara palm, açaí palm or simply açaí. It grows in the Amazon rainforest and, along with the fruit, the palm hearts can also be eaten. The açaí berry is purple red to almost black in colour. The flavour could be described as slightly earthy, reminiscent of dark chocolate. Açaí is available among others as a juice, in capsules, as a puree as well as powdered. You can also find organic açaí powder and 100 % pure organic açaí powder in our shop. Açaí is great for creating smoothie bowls and açaí bowls or colourful baked goods.
