More appearance than reality? The fig is a so-called "false fruit"! This means that it does not form from a flower, but from inflorescence (which is turned inwards). The actual fruits are the tiny seeds in the flesh. What is absolutely not just appearance: the dried fig's heavenly taste! The fig does not only look juicy, delicious and beautiful but also convinces through and through with a honey-sweet aroma. By the way, this flavour comes out even better in the dried fig version. That's why we have prepared a 1 kg pack of this sweet sin for you. Believe us, you will love these little fruits! Buy 1 kg of organic dried Turkish figs in the UK now!
True art: the fig leaf
KoRo history lesson: The fig is the first plant mentioned by name in the Bible. Surely you have seen paintings or statues from earlier times in which the ladies and gentlemen are covered with nothing more than a fig leaf. The leaf of the fig tree was used in visual art to cover the genitals of naked persons. By covering one's own nakedness, it served to overcome feelings of shame and was even added to paintings afterwards or during the restoration of antique statues. Crazy, isn't it? But figs are not only good for covering genitals, its also available in many varieties as white snack figs or figs covered in chocolate.
KoRo's best dried figs are a hit
Luckily, our bulk pack contains several dried figs, because they disappear faster than you can say "fig". The noble fig originally comes from the Arab region, but is now cultivated throughout the Mediterranean. When ripe, the fig has a stunning colour: blue-purple and beautifully red and yellow in the middle. This typical colour changes to brown when dried, but this does not diminish its honey-like taste. The fruit is in season from late summer to late autumn; fortunately, in our shop it is available all year round. Drying preserves the delicious fruity flavour. During drying, the fruit sugar and juice crystallise, which gives the dried fig its delicious sweetness, without any added sugar. This not only goes well with desserts, but also harmonises excellently with savoury food. It works a fig jam an other things: Lots of dried fig recipes are also available in our food journal.

I think they are terrible. Was looking forward to soft and fruity-sweet, got mushy, sticking together and tasteless. Well, tastes are different, I prefer the dwarf figs and freeze-dried figs, they are delicious.
Brilliant fig quality, will order again.
I love figs, whether fresh or dried. Try therefore again and again different. The best and juiciest, although they are dried!, I have discovered at KoRo.
