Neither nut or almond - the small tiger nuts are in reality a grass plant. They grow into pea sized brown tubers on the roots of the Cyprus grass. The nutty taste, along with their striped, tiger like exterior are what lead to this tuber being called tiger nut. Since the tiger nut is not actually a nut or a shell fruit, it's suitable even for people with nut allergies. It is also naturally gluten free. Through its natural sweetness and almond like flavor, they are particularly popular in Spain, where the so-called "Chufas" are mainly used to make sweet tiger nut milk. With our ground tiger nuts, you can make the milk yourself and decide how much sugar to put in. They are not only great for baked goods as a substitute for wheat and nuts, but are also delicious in vegetable stews, as a topping on salads or in a homemade tiger nut pesto. As tasty as they are, they also provide you with lots of fibre. Mixed into a porridge or sprinkled over some muesli, they add a special kick. Whether raw

Very compactly packed. Makes good in

Packed very compactly. Does well in nut cakes. However, cuts compared to other tiger nut flours taste a little less good.

Tasty and very fine

Very tasty and fine. Previously I had very crunchy tiger nut flours. This one is extra fine and therefore better to process, for example as tiger nut energy balls or tiger nut banana bread or homemade tiger nut puree. Simply delicious.
