Everything at a glance Organic spelt semolina

If your mouth waters just by thinking about semolina pudding with warm cherries, then you should definitely try our spelt semolina. Our organic spelt semolina takes just a few minutes to cook, and it easily become a delicious meal. Perfect for sweet creations like semolina pudding, bars & Co. or savoury dishes like casseroles and dumplings, our organic semolina made of spelt is incredibly versatile! But what is semolina, exactly? Semolina is a food which is produced by milling cereal grains. During the grinding process the grain is separated into several components, among others into flour and semolina. Semolina is basically made of the starch granules of the grain which are bonded by protein structures. Our spelt is not peeled after being harvested, as, in order to obtain a very high-fibre product, we prefer to use the whole grain. This has some advantages: firstly, fibre leaves you feeling full for longer; and secondly, it supports a normal digestive and bowel function. At KoRo y

What is the KoRo price chart?

In this chart, you can see the price per base unit (mainly 100g). In addition, you will learn the reason for a price reduction or increase by clicking on the information circles.
  • Price Change Icon

    Why is the price fluctuating?

Most annual product crops have an impact on the relationship between supply and demand in the market. In the event of a bad harvest, we must also pay a higher price for raw materials. Due to the strong impact of external factors such as wind, weather, climate and natural events on the harvest, we are refusing long-term cross-harvest contracts with our producers.
  • Communication Icon

Why are we communicating price changes at KoRo?

Open communication is very important to us and therefore part of our vision. For this reason, we would like to keep you informed of the evolution of our prices. Thus, the KoRo price chart provides a transparent overview of the evolution of the products prices over time.

The origins of spelt

Already in the Middle Ages, spelt was a fundamental ingredient for bread-making. Afterwards, for almost a century, it was almost forgotten, as spelt, contrary to wheat, does not react well to fertilisers, and was therefore less profitable.
