Pea protein - what is that?

Pea protein strips: In our case, this means that we have a list of ingredients with exactly one ingredient: yellow peas. Ultimately, it's all about creating the perfect bite sized treat. For this, pea protein concentrate is textured. It sounds complicated, but it's not. To make pea protein concentrate, our yellow peas are ground and pressed. Then the fine powder is pressed into the right shape. That's it - no frills, but 61 grams of protein per 100 grams and countless uses. Basically a delicious alternative to your usual pea protein powder.

How to prepare it and great recipes to used our pea strips

Since the pea protein strips have a neutral taste, all gourmet doors are open to you. For an optimal taste, we recommend that you soak them in hot vegetable stock for 10-20 minutes before frying, so that they take on the spiced flavour. Then sauté with spices of your choice and you're done! You will find numerous 100 % vegan recipes in our Food Journal, including our Asian style meatballs and our meaty mushroom sauce. If you want to make a quick meal, cook some of our whole-grain spelt pasta, fry up the pea protein strips and add our tomato sauce with olives. Incredibly delicious and it takes just a few minutes!

Perfect

I was looking for an equally protein-packed alternative to seitan. With about 30 grams you get 180 grams of rehydrated mince. Exquisite taste, texture quite similar to meat. Just need to add spices in cooking and seasoning. Excellent nutritional values: basically it's legume protein with added pea flour and fiber to create the flake texture. I find it great for making Tex-Mex style dishes. Competitive price, considering that 600 grams becomes practically 3.6 kg, at 11€ I'd say it's mega affordable!

great, I will order again

First boil briefly in a spicy broth, drain and then process like "mince". Very good texture. Attention the package is quite large, because textured protein is without moisture.

Excellent

Great for lunch or dinner. I use them to make a kind of stew. I hydrate them in boiling water with vegetable broth, then squeeze them out and season them with flavorings and soy sauce. I let them rest and then pan-fry them. Good that they are peas and not soybeans to change protein source.

Just a wonder!

Unbeatable value for money, they are excellent in sauce as well as pan-fried, a treat, just marinate to season and cook. I will definitely use them again!
